Gucci has recently become one of my favorite designer brands (don’t worry Chanel you will always be number one). I’m obsessed with the edgy yet sophisticated style with their signature red and green. (Red and green just happen to be my favorite colors). Sadly, I am a college student and cannot afford to be dressed up in Gucci head to toe, so I decided to dedicate a much cheaper outfit to the designer. Here is my Gucci inspired outfit!
The main piece of the outfit is this red, green, and white cardigan. It is less than $50 and is nice quality. I’ve never seen a cardigan quite like it, so I had to pick it up. I paired it with some simple light wash jeans and a white tank top. I wanted the main focus to be on the red and green stripes, so I kept the rest of the outfit simple.
Although my outfit is super affordable, I HAD to splurge a little on the shoes! I’m wearing Gucci New Ace Women’s Sneakers to tie the whole look together. (Never did I think I would be wearing these shoes, but through hard work I made it here!) They are literally INCREDIBLE. I’m so in love.
Anyway, I think this outfit is a perfect example of mixing and matching different priced items! It’s ok to splurge on a designer item and pair it with a $30 sweater and some American Eagle jeans, in the same way it’s ok to wear an expensive dress and some $30 heels! Purchase the expensive pieces you know you will wear because not only will they last, but they will always look cute with much more affordable items.
